Gift cards with personal messages are very used specially by stores that deal with gift lists, marriage lists etc.
In order to make this product available for clients, you must set up a new SKU Service on Admin. To learn how to create SKU Services, read Creating service for a SKU.
After creating the Service and defining its Value, register a type of service for the SKU and, then, link this service to the SKU. Follow the steps below:
- In the VTEX Admin, go to Catalog, or type Catalog in the search bar at the top of the page.
- Click on Custom Product Attributes.
- Click on Service Types.
- Register or select the Type of Service.
- Click on Service Values.
- Register a New Values Table by selecting the type of service that was registered previously.
- In the VTEX Admin, still in the Catalog menu, access All products.
- Select a product.
- Click on the list of SKUs for this Product.
- On the arrow next to the
Edit
button, click on Service. - Create a new service. On the creation screen, select the type of service created and the table of values.

Validating the configuration
On the website, it is possible to confirm whether the settings are correct. To do so, follow the steps below:
- Go the page of the SKU that was set up.
- Add it to the cart.
- Here, the type of service must be make available for selection. The text must have a maximum of 150 characters.
- Select the service in the cart and click on the link to add a message.

You can view the written message on My Account > My Orders:

After setting up the SKU service, wait for the indexing process for the registration to be effective on the website. Once the service is active, you will be able to test the purchase.
