Seller: creating an account in the Seller Portal

The Seller Portal is an edition of the VTEX platform that allows sellers to connect and sell their products on marketplaces. In the portal, sellers have access to all the essential features for operating ecommerce in large storefronts, providing increased visibility and sales conversion.

The Seller Portal allows sellers to:

  • Connect quickly and seamlessly to a marketplace.
  • Activate their catalog in the marketplace to sell immediately.
  • Update product inventory and prices.
  • Manage shared products that are already in the marketplace catalog.
  • Manage and invoice all their orders in the marketplace, as well as process payments.
  • Create their shipping strategy.
  • Reduce the time-to-revenue of their sales.

Creating an account in the Seller Portal

The process of creating an account in the Seller Portal begins with an invitation sent by the marketplace. Once you receive the email invitation, there are two possible ways to create an account, which depend on whether your store is already hosted on VTEX or not. Follow the steps for the option that applies to your context:

The account creation link sent to the seller is valid for 7 days. Once the link is opened, the seller must complete the registration form within six hours, without interruption. If the registration cannot be completed within six hours, the marketplace needs to send the invitation again.

Connecting the VTEX account with the marketplace

  1. In the email you received, click on CONNECT WITH MARKETPLACE.
  2. On the invitation page, select USE MY VTEX ACCOUNT.
  3. Enter your VTEX account name in the field Enter your VTEX account.
  4. If you want to change the VTEX account, Click on Change.
  5. Click on CONFIRM.
  6. On the page that opened, select the Trade Policy from the list.
  7. Click on Connect Marketplace.

Creating an account for external sellers

  1. In the email you received, click on CONNECT WITH MARKETPLACE.
  2. On the invitation page, select CREATE NEW ACCOUNT.
  3. Follow the steps below according to the option selected.
  4. Select the country of your store from the list.
  5. Enter your full name.
  6. Change the company name, if you wish.
  7. Fill in the fields:
    • CNPJ (Company registration number): Your company's registration number.
    • CEP (ZIP code): Your company's ZIP code.
    • State: State where your company is located.
    • City: City where your company is located.
    • Neighborhood: Neighborhood where your company is located.
    • Street: Street where your company is located.
    • Number: Number of your company's address.
    • Complement (Additional information): Additional information related to the address.
  8. Check the box I agree to VTEX's Terms of Use and Privacy.
  9. Click on CREATE ACCOUNT.

The Seller Portal URL provided is the link you will use to access your Seller Portal account.


Once you have completed these steps, you must configure the Seller Portal and wait for the marketplace to activate your store.
