To create a shelf template, follow the steps below:

1. Access the CMS module.
2. Click the CMS folder.
3. Click Shelves Templates.
4. Click new template.
5. Fill in the Shelf Template Name field.

When filling in the Shelf Template Name, avoid using the following reserved words, as this can hinder your store's performance and interfere with the functioning of VTEX Admin pages. See the list of reserved words below.

6. The CSS Class field creates a class tag for this template. This field is optional.
7. Click the Rounded corners box so that the template has rounded edges.
8. In Template Code you must fill in the code of your template. Use the standard templates as a basis for creating the new one. See here a basic code sample.
9. Click the Save Template button.
